The Tanzania Bankers Association (TBA) was established in 1995 as an association and later incorporated as a company limited by guarantee in 2012.
TBA is the main advocacy body for the banking sector guided by the mission “to bring together members of the banking fraternity in order to have a common voice on matters relating to industry performance and growth, policy and regulation, elevation of professional standards and standards of providing banking services” in order to achieve our vision of being “the voice of the banking sector and assist in creating a conducive environment for the sector to contribute to economic development of the country while keeping the Customer at the center”.
Code of Conduct
Developing and Maintaining a Code of Ethics, Rules and Regulations to govern members in their banking dealings/transactions.
Banking Operations
To strive for harmonization of operations in the banking industry.
Process Facilitation
Facilitating the processes in establishment and maintenance of a vibrant national payment system.
TBA promotes and protects the interests of members and other stakeholders of the banking sector in Tanzania.
It advises the Government and the Bank of Tanzania in the formulation of financial policies and programs.
